What is Second Spring Media?

Second Spring Meaning

So what is the meaning of second spring? Autumn sometimes is refers to the second spring. It can mean your second career, or the second half of your life. You might even here people say, “my second spring.” Whether you are 30, 50 or a 100-years old, my goal is to capture your legacy through portrait photography and video stories.

Behind the scenes video production

Christina talks with Becky Taft about her childhood memories of Eastgate in the 1940s (Scott Spears, photographer).

When was your last professional portrait done?

High school or on your wedding day is typically the last time a professional portrait was captured for most people. The one regret I hear  is that they wished they had a nice portrait of their parents and this is what I am offering to you. Your legacy of family and a career is something to be proud of and to share with your loved ones, children and grandchildren so why would you want your last professional portrait be from high school or your wedding day when it was more than 50-years ago.  Having a portrait of a love one will last a lifetime.

Creating a Legacy Video

Since I was a small child, I enjoyed the company of people telling their stories and sharing their wisdom. What better way to capture that legacy in a photo or video? I have explored this theme since graduate school when I created the capstone project, Second Spring Magazine. This multimedia project featured stories of people living in their retirement years.

In the last ten years, my husband and I have produced three documentaries on the history of communities and have recorded hundreds of people on their legacies. We enjoy talking to people about their life experiences and I want to extend our ability in video production and photography to you. It is with my experience as a photojournalist and my husband’s experience is a videographer we can offer either offer portrait photography and/or legacy videos that fits your budget. What do you think?
